Hindhu religion recognizes Tri Murti which consists of God Brahma as the creator, God Whisnu as the preserver, the god Shiwa as the destroyer. The main chamber of the main temple is occupied by God Shiwa as Maha Dewa, so it can be concluded that Prambanan temple is Shiwa temple.

Prambanan Temple or Shiwa Temple is also often referred to as Roro Jonggrang temple related to the legend. The edge of the temple is bordered by a balustrade fence decorated with reliefs of Ramayana. The story of the Brahma temple located on the left (south) of the main temple.

Inside the courtyard there are other temples, which are 2 flanking temples with a height of 16 meters facing each other, which stands to the north and to the south.

The inner courtyard considered by the Hindu community as the most sacred courtyard, is located in the middle of the central courtyard, and initially contains 224 rows of perwara. Outside this central courtyard, there is a rectangular outer courtyard.
