Yogyakarta Tourist Attraction: Pandansimo Beach

Pandansimo Beach is located in Poncosari, Srandakan, approximately 20 kilometers southwest of the city of Bantul. It is adjacent to the Progo River Estuary, and is the westernmost beach of the South Coast line that enters the district of Bantul.

Great waves, wild waves, and mystical atmosphere is still thick with the many sacred thing. The frenzy of fishermen against the waves is a special attraction for tourists. Beside to beautiful panoramic beaches, on Pandansimo Beach there are also pilgrimage attractions such as Pandanpayung and Pandansari.

The most interesting thing to do here is to shop for sea fish directly from local fishermen. The name Pandansimo itself comes from the word “pandan” (pandanus tree) and “simo” (tiger). There are also various cultural activities such as ceremonies of Merti Dusun tradition and cultural arts performances.

Thus a small part of the enjoyment the pulse of fisherman life on Pandansimo Beach. Just simply pay the entrance ticket $0.2 for each person, you can feel the pulse of a simplified life of the fisherman here.
